For the moment, the Homeless Rabbit Adoption shelter (ALSA) is looking for temporary families in Quebec City and around (50 km around). This facilitates our operations and ensures better monitoring of veterinary care carried out in Quebec. However, there are times when we need families in Montreal. We have a partnership with a veterinary clinic in Montreal North. However, outside of Quebec City are not our greatest current needs. We will still keep your application in our register if the need arises, we will contact all those who have been selected and who have completed this form.*

By being a temporary foster family, you have the first choice for the adoption of your resident. You must indicate your intention from the start so that our volunteers are informed and do not offer the rabbit for adoption to another family.

You will be able to make your decision in a minimum of thirty (30) days after welcoming your rabbit home. We do not advocate impulsive adoption and prefer to give the rabbit (and you) time to adapt and get to know you.

Adoption fees

If you would like to adopt the rabbit down the road, are you comfortable with the adoption fees? Including the rabbit, its basic examination, sterilization and a bag of hay (3.5 kg) - non-refundable? (see information below) *

*$60 + taxes per rabbit must be added for rabbits vaccinated against hemorrhagic fever.

Temporary families always have first choice for rabbit adoption after completing a pre-adoption questionnaire and paying the $220/$245 + taxes adoption fee which includes the rabbit, basic veterinary exam, sterilization and a box of hay. Take into consideration that current sterilization fees can reach $400 for a male and $600 for a female depending on the veterinary clinic or region in addition to the purchase costs of the rabbit which can be around $80 in a pet store and between $85 and $100 with a breeder.

The box of hay offered for adoption (3.5 kg) is valued at $28.
